University of Leicester (Leicester) and The Apollo University (TAU) of the Apollo Hospitals Group have initiated a unique partnership in education and research, aiming to strengthen ties between the UK and India. This collaboration introduces a computer science (CS) program where students will begin their studies with two years at TAU in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India, before completing their final year and graduation at the University of Leicester, UK.

The program aims to prepare 120 students for its first cohort, with a jointly mapped curriculum between the two universities. Eligible applicants must have achieved a minimum of 50 per cent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics during their Intermediate or diploma studies, along with completing Class 12 or its equivalent with these subjects as majors from a recognized Board.

Upon completion of studies at TAU, students can choose from computer science specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or Software Engineering at Leicester. Additionally, the articulation pathway provides an option for a one-year master’s degree in their chosen discipline. Graduates may also access placement opportunities and post-study work visas in the UK.

Professor Henrietta O’Connor, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester, expressed excitement about the partnership's potential to drive real-world changes in healthcare and data science.
